Spicy Tofu with Steamed Broccoli

A low-carb, high-protein lunch made with Harissa Tofu Cubes.

I love spicy tofu but it is often made with prepared sauce that wreaks havoc with my eczema. For that reason, I was so excited to find Hodo Spicy Harissa Tofu. If you’re not familiar with Harissa, It’s s a hot chili pepper paste traditionally used in North African and Israeli cuisine. The main ingredients are roasted red peppers, spices and herbs such as garlic paste, caraway seeds, coriander seeds, and cumin. Happily, the Hodo brand skips all the preservatives. The paste is added to olive oil and used to flavor savory dishes, like soups, stews, grains…really anything. Oh, and a little goes a long way.

To make, steam 1 cup broccoli. Heat one serving(about 1/2 cup) of tofu in pan and add some slice onion. Sautéed quickly until onion softens. Add lightly steamed broccoli. Served with 1/2 cup brown rice.
